In 2022, the MTV EMAs made their highly anticipated return to Germany for the first time in a decade, and we were positioned at the heart of the action. We managed a cultural milestone that celebrated the world’s most influential artists through prestigious awards and legendary performances by international music icons.
As the year’s most significant and widely discussed music event, the MTV EMAs 2022 required a sophisticated communication strategy. To strengthen the MTV brand within the media, music, advertising, and affiliate sectors, we launched bespoke PR initiatives specifically tailored to the host city of Düsseldorf. By aligning our strategy with the PR objectives of local sponsorship partners, we created a unified narrative that maximized impact for all stakeholders involved.
We spearheaded every aspect of the national B2B and B2C outreach, from the initial concept to full-scale execution. Our responsibilities covered high-profile activations including the Best German Act Award, the Ticket Challenge, and the star-studded Red Carpet, all leading up to the main event. We facilitated exclusive interviews with MTV spokespeople and managed the complex press accreditation process for hundreds of international journalists.
The campaign delivered nearly 400 media features across print, digital, TV, radio, and social platforms, generating 13.8 million views and a total reach of 635 million. By dominating the German media landscape, we exceeded all client expectations and cemented the EMAs as the definitive cultural event of the year.
